1When they first started writing the song "Takedown", the song that goes:23"When your patterns start to show4It makes the hatrеd wanna grow outta my veins5I don't think you're ready for thе takedown6Break you into pieces in the world of pain 'cause you're all the same7Yeah, it's a takedown8A demon with no feelings don't deserve to live, it's so obvious"910I felt like it was vile. Even in the context of demons who destroy mankind and threaten the lives of those around you, just they're some sick and twisted lyrics. But then the movie won me back when they turned the lyrics back on Rumi. I really loved them playing on this "takedown" *actually* being a reflection of her hatred towards demons, a need to prove herself and her hatred of herself. That was really powerful to me, and took what was a vile, frankly disgusting song, and peeled back its layers for me.
